Beelerton High School historically served the coal mining community of Beelerton in Perry County, Kentucky in the Appalachian region of eastern Kentucky. The school operated during the period when many coal camps and small mountain communities maintained their own local schools. Athletic teams represented Beelerton in regional competition including boys basketball. The school closed during the wave of county school consolidations that occurred across eastern Kentucky in the mid-twentieth century, with students eventually attending larger consolidated schools within the Perry County system.
