About McDowell

McDowell High School served the community of McDowell in Floyd County, Kentucky. The school operated through much of the twentieth century and fielded athletic teams including boys basketball representing the coalfield communities of the Left Beaver Creek valley. McDowell High School closed in 2015 when the Floyd County School District consolidated several high schools to form Floyd Central High School.
