About Red Bird

Red Bird High School was located in the Red Bird community of Clay County, Kentucky and was associated with the Red Bird Mission educational system in the Appalachian region. The school served mountain communities in southeastern Kentucky and fielded athletic teams including boys basketball. The high school program eventually closed as educational programs were reorganized in the area.
