Virgie High School historically served the community of Virgie in Pike County, Kentucky in the Appalachian coalfields. The school fielded athletic teams including boys basketball before Pike County consolidated several smaller high schools. Students from the Virgie community later attended Shelby Valley High School after the county's school consolidation.
