Tates Creek High School is located in Lexington in Fayette County, Kentucky and opened in 1965 as part of Fayette County Public Schools. The school serves the southeastern portion of Lexington and was named after the nearby Tates Creek area. The Tates Creek Commodores boys basketball program competes in the Kentucky High School Athletic Association and represents one of the major public school programs in the Lexington metropolitan area.
